Happy Diwali Wishes and Messages 2016
Diwali is the biggest South Asian religious fest celebrated in the month of October( in the month of Karthika with respect to Hindu calendar). Everyone celebrate Diwali as a grand event but most of the people don’t know the story behind the celebrations. Now I would like to share the story behind the Celebrations and reason that enabling us to light the houses removing darkness.
In the earlier days there was a king named Dasharatha who used to rule the kingdom of Ayodhya. Rama and Lakshmana were the eldest sons of Dasharatha. As their stepmother want her son to be the king, she asked Dasharatha to send their eldest sons to spend 14 years in Forest and then come back to kingdom. Having respect to their father’s words they went to the forest with Rama;’s wife Sita Devi. They used to live in the forest facing all the difficulties. One day Ravana the Evil king of Lanka kidnapped Sita Devi in the absence of Rama and Lakshmana.
Being the team Rama, Lakshmana, Monkey king , Hanuman went to bring Sita Devi back to home. Then there took place a war between Ravana and Rama. Finally after a fierce battle Ravana got defeated by Rama and came back to home safely with Sita Devi after 14years. They lit the Oil lamps to show their victory against evil.
Another Story Behind the Celebrations Diwali is also stated here. Narakasura who is the relative of Lord Krishna Wife Sathayabhama used to rule the Prgiyothishpur kingdom. Being cruel ruler he had snatched the earrings of Goddess Aditi. He also kidnapped and imprisoned 16 thousand daughters of Saints and Gods in his kingdom. Seeking the help of Lord Krishna, Sathyabhama successfully defeated Narakasura and saved the daughters of Saints and gods. Finally the earrings of Goddess Aditi were recollected back and returned her safely. The victory against Narakasura is celebrated as a grand event by lighting lamps to show the victory of her.

Many Deepavali festivals have come and gone. Yet the hearts of the vast majority are as dark as the night of the new moon. The house is lit with lamps, but the heart is full of the darkness of ignorance. O man! wake up from the slumber of ignorance.
